Our Skipper, Trevor Jackson, has been involved in the fishing and diving scene for thirty years, twenty as a commercial fisherman and for the last ten years as a charter boat owner operator. He is an experienced boat owner and skilled registered skipper.
El Pescador (“the fisherman”) is a modern 35ft Pelin Conquest Launch, powered by one 250 hp Hino diesel motor and modern electronics. We cruise at 15 knots with a top speed of 24 knots; onboard facilities include: toilet and shower, cooking facilities, BBQ and stereo.
El Pescador has a current Maritime Safety Authority Certificate, and meets or exceeds New Zealand Maritime Regulations.
Fishing Equipment
Game fishing – El Pescador is game rigged with a game chair, top of the line Shimano bent butt rods & reels, a mix of Pakula and other top of the line lures, and a friendly deckhand. Recommended for 4-6 people.
Other fishing – Equipment is available on request for a small fee (including berley and bait, rods, reels and tackle).
Catering
Catering can be provided on request at a reasonable charge, this can be as simple as sandwiches and fruit or perhaps a BBQ? Tea, coffee and soup are provided free of charge on all our charters.
